Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM PST 18 January 2021 Tonight and Tuesday At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located on a line
north-south over Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Tuesday dissipating frontal system located on a
line northeast-southwest over central Vancouver Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:11 PM PST 18 January 2021 A frontal system over Bowie will move onto the North Coast tonight,
and weaken as it progresses through the Central Coast Tuesday morning
then sweeping through the South Coast on Tuesday afternoon.

Ahead of the front, gale to storm force southeasterlies over offshore
and northern waters will spread to central waters overnight and ease
Tuesday morning. In its wake, the winds shift to strong to gale force
westerly and will ease to moderate to strong midday Tuesday.
