Issued 4:00 AM PST 16 December 2018 Today Tonight and Monday At 4:00 a.m. PST today frontal system located from Sandspit to
Cape Scott then to Tofino.
By 9:00 a.m. PST today weakening frontal system located from the
North Coast to the Central Coast then to Tofino.

At 4:00 a.m. PST today low located west of Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today low located northwest of Bowie.

At 4:00 a.m. PST Monday frontal system located west of Explorer.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Monday frontal system located from Sandspit to
Cape Scott then to Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:47 AM PST 16 December 2018 An intense frontal system lies draped over Sandspit southwards to
Cape Scott and then southwards to Tofino. The frontal system will
shift slightly eastward and weaken later this morning.

Gale to storm force southerly winds will continue for Dixon, Hecate
Strait, Central Coast, and inner South Coast waters this morning.

A low pressure centre west of Bowie will slowly drift
Northeastward today. The low will generate strong to gale force
southerlies for northern and central waters.

A new intense frontal system will approach Explorer on Monday
morning. Gale to storm force southeasterlies will once again develop
across southern, central, and northern waters during the day on
Monday. Hurricane force winds are forecast Monday afternoon for the
headlands of West Vancouver Island North.
