Wind southeast 30 to 40 knots except northeast 30 near the mainland inlets. Wind diminishing to west 10 to 20 early this afternoon then backing to southerly 15 to 25 late this afternoon. Wind increasing to southeast 35 to 45 near midnight and to southeast 45 to 55 near noon Wednesday. Wind diminishing to south 25 to 35 Wednesday evening.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM PST 10 December 2019 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 4:00 a.m. PST today frontal system located west of Haida Gwaii.
By noon PST today dissipating frontal system located on a line
north-south over Hecate Strait.

At 10:00 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located over western Bowie.
By 10:00 a.m. PST Wednesday frontal system located west of Haida
Gwaii.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:47 AM PST 10 December 2019 A frontal system will track across Haida Gwaii this morning and
weaken over Hecate Strait near noon. Gale force southerlies ahead of
the front will weaken to moderate to strong westerlies in its wake.

Another frontal system will approach the offshore waters this evening
and move onto North Coast late Wednesday. Widespread southeast gales
will develop over northern and central waters this evening and
increase to southeast storm force near midnight.
