Issued 4:00 PM PST 19 January 2018 Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 p.m. PST today weakening low 994 mb located 75 miles south
of Cape St. James.
By 10:00 p.m. PST tonight dissipating low 997 mb located over
eastern Queen Charlotte Sound.

At 10:00 p.m. PST tonight intensifying frontal system located west
of the offshore waters.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Saturday frontal system located from Sandspit to
Cape Scott then to Tofino.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 4:00 PM PST 19 January 2018 A 994 millibar low 75 miles south of Cape St James will move
Slowly northeastward across Queen Charlotte Sound this evening while
weakening. The low will reach the Central Coast and dissipate near
McInnes Island overnight. A frontal system will approach the
Offshore waters overnight to lie from Haida Gwaii to Vancouver
Island Saturday afternoon.

Strong to gale force southeasterlies ahead of the low will ease to
moderate to strong tonight. Gale to local storm force
Northwesterlies in the wake of the low will also ease to moderate to
strong tonight.

Gale force southeasterlies will develop offshore ahead of the
Frontal system overnight, and spread to most waters on Saturday, and
may approach storm force strength. Winds will ease to strong
southerlies behind the system.
