Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:30 AM PDT 7 October 2026 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:30 a.m. PDT today ridge located from the Central Coast
to Explorer.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Thursday departing ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Vancouver Island.

At 10:30 a.m. PDT today low located off Bowie.
By 1:00 a.m. PDT Thursday departing low located over Hecate Strait.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT Thursday approaching frontal system located on
a line northeast-southwest over northwestern Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:21 AM PDT 7 October 2026 A low pressure system will track across Central Bowie this afternoon.
Winds will increase to marginal gale force easterlies ahead of the
low, then shift to strong southwesterlies in its wake.

The low will continue moving northeastward tonight and move inland
near Prince Rupert early Thursday morning. Winds will weaken to
moderate to strong as the system weakens tonight.

Another low pressure system will approach Northern Explorer Thursday
afternoon, bringing strong to gale force southwesterlies to the
southern waters and strong to gale force northwesterlies to the
northern waters.
