over northern Vancouver Island.
By 10:30 a.m. PST today weakening frontal system located west of
Juan de Fuca Strait.
At 4:00 a.m. PST today building ridge located west of the offshore
By 4:00 p.m. PST Monday ridge located from Haida Gwaii to Explorer.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 4:09 AM PST 24 January 2021 A frontal system will brush past Vancouver Island from the west this
morning as it moves towards Washington. The system will lie over
Washington state by this afternoon.
Strong southeast winds will continue this morning over the South
Coast inner waters and waters near Southwest Vancouver island. The
winds across the South Coast inner waters will diminish by this
afternoon while strong to gale force northwesterly winds will prevail
over most waters through today. The northwest winds will gradually
ease tonight and Monday morning to eventually become light to
moderate by Monday afternoon.
