Wind north 45 to 55 knots increasing to northwest 55 to 65 this evening then diminishing to northwest 45 to 55 late overnight. Wind diminishing to northwest 35 to 45 Thursday morning and to northwest 25 to 35 Thursday afternoon. Wind becoming northwest 25 Thursday evening.

Snow. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water severe freezing spray over northwestern sections late this afternoon and tonight. Moderate freezing spray Thursday except severe freezing spray over northwestern sections Thursday morning.

Temperatures minus 8 to zero falling to minus 12 to minus 4 Thursday morning.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM NDT 2 April 2025 Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 p.m. NDT today intensifying low 972 mb located over the
South Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT Thursday low 989 mb located east of the East
Labrador Sea.

At 4:00 p.m. NDT Thursday building ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Labrador Coast.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:52 PM NDT 2 April 2025 An intense low pressure system over the South Labrador Sea will
remain nearly stationary tonight, then gradually track northwards on
Thursday. Storm to hurricane force north to northwesterlies this
evening will diminish to strong to gale force northwesterlies
overnight and on Thursday.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South
Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
