Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray over northwestern sections today and early this evening. Freezing spray tonight and Monday.

Issued 4:00 AM NST 16 January 2022 Today Tonight and Monday At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 959 mb located northeast of Newfoundland.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Monday low 972 mb located near Greenland.

At 4:00 p.m. NST today ridge located over western Labrador.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Monday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Labrador.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:28 AM NST 16 January 2022 An intense low pressure system over the Northeast Coast of
Newfoundland will track northeastwards across Belle Isle Bank today.
The low will move to lie east of Greenland on Monday. Gale to storm
force northerly to northwesterly winds north of the low will persist
over most waters today and tonight. Hurricane force northwesterlies
can be expected over South Labrador Coast today. Winds will diminish
to moderate to strong westerlies on Monday.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for South Labrador Coast. Storm warnings are in effect for
Mid Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water.
