Wind west 35 to 45 knots becoming northwest 40 to 50 this afternoon then diminishing to northwest 35 late overnight. Wind diminishing to northwest 25 Thursday morning and to variable 10 to 15 Thursday afternoon except north 20 over northwestern sections Thursday evening.

Flurries. Visibility as low as 1 mile in flurries.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray today and Thursday except severe freezing spray over western sections today and tonight. Freezing spray over northwestern sections Thursday evening.

Temperatures minus 14 to minus 6.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NDT 11 March 2026 Today Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 a.m. NDT today low 979 mb located north of the Northwest
Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Thursday low 985 mb located over the southern
East Labrador Sea.

At 4:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located over northern Quebec.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Thursday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over central Labrador.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:45 AM NDT 11 March 2026 An intense low pressure system just north of the Northwest Labrador
Sea will track southeastward across the marine district to lie south
of Greenland by Thursday morning. Gale to storm force west to
northwesterly winds will persist today and tonight south of low.
Winds will gradually ease on Thursday as a ridge of high pressure
builds in from the west.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast - north of Saglek and the Labrador Sea.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Lake
Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
