Issued 4:00 PM NST 16 January 2026 Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 p.m. NST today deepening low 974 mb located over
Newfoundland.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Saturday deepening low 950 mb located over the
East Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:54 PM NST 16 January 2026 A low pressure system over Newfoundland will deepen as it tracks
northeastwards tonight to lie over the East Labrador Sea by Saturday
afternoon. Strong to gale force easterlies ahead of the low will
shift to gale to storm force northwesterlies to southwesterlies in
its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters except Lake Melville and Mid Labrador Coast, where gale
warnings are in effect.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all open waters.
