Issued 9:30 AM NST 17 January 2026 Today Tonight and Sunday At 9:30 a.m. NST today low 947 mb located over the East Labrador
Sea.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Sunday low 975 mb located east of the East
Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:25 AM NST 17 January 2026 An intense low pressure system over the East Labrador Sea will
continue eastwards to lie east of the Labrador Sea later by tonight.
Gale to storm force northwesterlies to southwesterlies will persist
over all waters with this system. Winds will gradually diminish
throughout the forecast period as the low drifts east of the Labrador
Sea.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters except Lake Melville, where a gale warning is in effect.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open waters.
