Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NDT 9 April 2020 Today Tonight and Friday At 9:30 a.m. NDT today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the South Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Friday departing trough located north of the
Northwest Labrador Sea.

By 4:00 a.m. NDT Friday approaching low 972 mb located over Maine.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:28 AM NDT 9 April 2020 A trough of low pressure over the South Labrador Sea will move north
to lie over the Northwest Labrador Sea this afternoon and north of
the marine district tonight. Gale force northeasterly winds to the
north of this system will diminish near midnight as the trough
departs.

An intense low pressure system will move over the Gulf of St.
Lawrence Friday night. Strong to gale force easterly winds will
develop over southern waters late Friday in advance of this
approaching system.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, North Labrador Coast, Northwest Labrador Sea,
and East Labrador Sea.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Coast and Mid Labrador Coast.
