Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 9 December 2019 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 993 mb located over the East Labrador
Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NST today dissipating low 990 mb located north of
the Marine District.

By 4:00 p.m. NST today building ridge located on a line east-west
over Labrador.

By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight approaching trough located on a line
east-west over southern Quebec.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:50 AM NST 9 December 2019 A low pressure system over the East Labrador Sea will cause gale
force westerlies in the vicinity of the low. Winds will diminish this
morning as the low tracks north of the district.

Later today, a ridge of high pressure will build over Labrador.
Gale force westerlies will develop over northwestern waters between
the exiting low and the building ridge.

An east-west trough of low pressure will move north across Labrador
on Tuesday. Strong to gale force east to southeasterlies will develop
ahead of the trough.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast, Northwest Labrador Sea and East Labrador Sea -
southern half.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Labrador Sea.
