Wind northwest 35 to 45 knots diminishing to northwest 25 near noon then backing to west 15 to 20 this evening. Wind diminishing to variable 10 to 15 near midnight then increasing to variable 15 to 20 near noon Saturday. Wind becoming north 20 Saturday evening.

Flurries. Visibility 1 mile or less in flurries.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray today and this evening except severe freezing spray over western sections this morning. Freezing spray Saturday afternoon and evening.

Issued 4:00 AM NST 21 February 2020 Today Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 979 mb located over the northern South
Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday dissipating low 1000 mb located east of
Belle Isle Bank.

At 4:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over western Labrador.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday ridge located over Labrador Coast.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:48 AM NST 21 February 2020 An intense low pressure system over the Northern South Labrador Sea
will drift southeastward today and slowly weaken. Gale to storm force
northwesterlies will diminish today as the low dissipates.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South Labrador Sea.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Lake
Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
