Issued 9:30 PM NST 21 January 2026 Tonight and Thursday At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight trough from 976 mb low located from thelow to Nain.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Thursday departing trough from 975 mb low located
southeast of the Marine District.
At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight low 976 mb located south of Greenland.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Thursday low 980 mb located southeast of Greenland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:55 PM NST 21 January 2026 A low pressure system over the South Labrador Sea will begin slowlytracking eastwards tonight and Thursday. Meanwhile, a trough
extending northwestward from the low to Ungava Bay will slowly drift
southward tonight. Strong to gale force northeasterlies will persist
north of the trough while gale to storm force southwest to
northwesterlies are expected to its south. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies are expected on Thursday behind the trough.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South Labrador Sea.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water except East Labrador Sea.
