Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 8 December 2021 Today Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 947 mb located over central Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Thursday low 970 mb located southeast of Greenland.

At 4:00 p.m. NST Thursday approaching ridge located on a line
east-west over Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:47 AM NST 8 December 2021 A very intense low pressure system over the Labrador Sea will track
eastward today while slowly weakening. Storm to hurricane force
southwesterlies to northwesterlies in the wake of the low will
diminish to gales over most waters by this evening.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for South Labrador Sea and East Labrador Sea.
Storm warnings are in effect for South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador
Coast - Hopedale and south, and Northwest Labrador Sea. Gale warnings
are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Labrador Sea.
