Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM NDT 9 April 2020 Tonight and Friday At 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Northwest Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Friday departing trough located north of the
Northwest Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight low 976 mb located near the Gulf of Maine.
By 9:30 p.m. NDT Friday low 973 mb located over the Gulf of
St. Lawrence.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:21 PM NDT 9 April 2020 A trough of low pressure over the Northwest Labrador Sea will move
northwestwards to lie north of the marine district tonight.
Gale force northeasterly winds to the north of this system will
diminish near midnight as the trough departs.

An intense low pressure system will move over the Gulf of St.
Lawrence Friday night. Strong to gale force easterly winds will
develop over southern waters late Friday in advance of this
approaching system.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Northwest Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Coast and Mid Labrador Coast.
