Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 19 February 2026 Today Tonight and Friday At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 966 mb located east of Funk Island Bank.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Friday quasi-stationary low 976 mb located
southeast of Greenland.

At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight high located over northern Hudson Bay.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Friday high located over northern Quebec.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:59 AM NST 19 February 2026 An intense low pressure system east of Funk Island Bank will track
southeast of Greenland later today or tonight then stall. Meanwhile,
a strong area of high pressure will drift across Hudson Bay to lie
over Northern Quebec by late Friday. Strong to gale force northerlies
to northwesterlies will spread across the marine district tonight
into Friday between these features.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for Mid
Labrador Coast - north of Hopedale, North Labrador Coast, South
Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water except East Labrador Sea.
