Wind variable 10 to 15 knots increasing to southeast 25 late overnight and to southeast 35 to 45 Tuesday morning. Wind veering to south 45 early Tuesday evening and locally gusts to 55 along the coast Tuesday evening.

Snow beginning overnight becoming freezing rain or snow near noon Tuesday then showers and fog patches Tuesday evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow and in fog patches.

Risk of freezing spray late overnight and Tuesday.

Temperatures minus 14 rising to plus 4 Tuesday evening.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM NDT 16 March 2026 Tonight and Tuesday At 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight deepening low 987 mb located over southern
Quebec.
By 9:30 p.m. NDT Tuesday approaching low 951 mb located over
Ungava Bay.

At 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT Tuesday departing ridge located east of the
Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:24 PM NDT 16 March 2026 A deepening low pressure system will approach the district on
Tuesday. Gale to storm force southerly to easterly winds will develop
over all waters ahead of this system.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast - north of Saglek, Northwest Labrador Sea, and
East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
