Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM NST 14 December 2017 Tonight and Friday At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight quasi-stationary low 956 mb located over
northern Labrador.

At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight intensifying low 995 mb located south
of Newfoundland.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Friday low 956 mb located over the northern East
Labrador Sea.

By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight departing trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over northern Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:17 PM NST 14 December 2017 An intense low pressure system over Northern Labrador will slowly
meander as it begins to weaken Friday. Gale to storm force easterlies
ahead of a trough associated with this system will shift to strong to
gale force southerlies in its wake.

A second intensifying low will approach from the south to reach the
East Labrador Sea by Friday afternoon, then move northwestward to
merge with the remnants of the first low on Friday night. Gale to
storm force southerlies will increase over southern and eastern
waters on Friday afternoon as this system crosses the East Labrador
Sea.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast and the Northwest Labrador Sea - northern half
and East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the East Labrador Sea.
