Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NST 21 February 2020 Today Tonight and Saturday At 9:30 a.m. NST today weakening low 984 mb located over the
northern South Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday dissipating low 1000 mb located east of
Belle Isle Bank.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located over western Labrador.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Saturday departing ridge located over the East
Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:20 AM NST 21 February 2020 An intense low pressure system over the South Labrador Sea will drift
southeastward today and slowly weaken. Gale to storm force
northwesterlies will diminish today as the low dissipates.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South Labrador Sea.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Lake
Melville and the North Labrador Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
