Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM NDT 11 October 2024 Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 p.m. NDT today low 972 mb located over the Mid Labrador
Coast.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Saturday dissipating low 973 mb located near
Lake Melville.

At 4:00 p.m. NDT today intensifying low 980 mb located east of
Funk Island Bank.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT Saturday low 965 mb located over the Mid Labrador
Coast.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:48 PM NDT 11 October 2024 A series of intense low pressure centres moving over Southern
Labrador waters will cause gale to storm force easterly to northerly
winds tonight. Some areas will see winds briefly diminish overnight
as the first centre dissipates, but winds will further increase to
storm to hurricane force northeasterlies on Saturday as the second
low centre intensifies.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for East Labrador Sea - southern half. Storm warnings are
in effect for Mid Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea - northern half,
and Northwest Labrador Sea - southern half. Gale warnings are in
effect for North Labrador Coast - Saglek and south, Northwest
Labrador Sea - northern half, and East Labrador Sea - northern half.
