Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NST 12 December 2017 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 a.m. NST today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the East Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Wednesday departing trough located east of the
Marine District.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located over western Labrador.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Wednesday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Labrador Sea.

By 4:00 a.m. NST Wednesday approaching low 984 mb located over
New England.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:17 AM NST 12 December 2017 A trough of low pressure over the Labrador Sea will track southeast
across the district this morning before moving out to sea later
today. Gale to storm force southwesterlies ahead of the trough will
shift to gale force northwesterlies in its wake and then diminish
tonight as a ridge of high pressure approaches.

An intensifying low pressure system will approach Labrador from the
south on Wednesday. Strong to gale force easterlies will develop over
most waters late Wednesday ahead of this low.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
South Labrador Sea - southeast half. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Labrador Sea.
