Hurricane force wind warning in effect.

Wind variable 15 to 20 knots increasing to north 35 to 45 early this evening and to northwest 45 to 55 near midnight except northwest 65 over southern sections overnight. Wind becoming northwest 35 to 45 Wednesday evening.

Snow becoming rain or snow and fog patches this afternoon then snow overnight. Flurries Wednesday afternoon and evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation and in fog patches.

Temperatures near zero.

Today Tonight and Wednesday. Seas 1 to 2 metres building to 3 to 5 near midnight and to 5 to 7 Wednesday morning.

East Labrador Sea - southern half

Today Tonight and Wednesday. Seas 2 to 3 metres building to 3 to 5 early this evening and to 9 to 12 late overnight. Seas subsiding to 7 to 9 Wednesday evening.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NST 24 November 2020 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 a.m. NST today intensifying low 981 mb located over the
Quebec Lower North Shore.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Wednesday low 953 mb located southwest of
Greenland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:22 AM NST 24 November 2020 An intense low pressure system over the Quebec Lower North Shore will
continue to rapidly intensify as it crosses Labrador today before
moving to lie over the East Labrador Sea tonight. Storm to hurricane
force northwesterlies will spread across all waters today before
gradually diminishing somewhat to gale to storm force on Wednesday in
the wake of the low.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, South
Labrador Sea, and East Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for
Lake Melville and Northwest Labrador Sea. A gale warning is in effect
for North Labrador Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Labrador Sea.
