Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM NST 29 November 2023 Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 p.m. NST today low 972 mb located near Ungava Bay.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing low 977 mb located over
Baffin Island.

At 4:00 p.m. NST today low 984 mb located south of the Avalon
Peninsula.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Thursday low 972 mb located over the Northwest
Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 4:01 PM NST 29 November 2023 A low pressure system over the North Labrador Coast will track
northward to lie over Baffin Island this evening. Gale to storm force
southeasterlies will shift to strong to gale force southwesterlies in
its wake.

AM intense low pressure system south of Newfoundland will track over
the Labrador Sea tonight to lie over the Northwest Labrador Sea by
Thursday afternoon. Storm to hurricane force east to southeasterlies
are expected east of the low, while gale to storm force
northwesterlies are expected west of the low.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for East Labrador Sea, storm warning is in effect for
Northwest Labrador Sea, and gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Lake Melville and South Labrador Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Lake Melville, the Labrador coast, and South Labrador Sea.
