Wind variable 20 knots increasing to northeast 35 this afternoon and to east 40 to 50 near midnight. Wind increasing to east 65 late overnight except south 40 over southern sections. Wind becoming south 55 to 65 near noon Thursday except south 40 over southern sections Thursday afternoon and south 25 to 35 over southern sections Thursday evening.

Flurries changing to rain or snow and fog patches this afternoon then to flurries Thursday afternoon. Visibility as low as 1 mile in flurries and 1 mile or less in fog patches.

Temperatures minus 2 rising to plus 4 this evening.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NST 21 November 2018 Today Tonight and Thursday At 9:30 a.m. NST today deepening low 993 mb located over
southwestern Newfoundland.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Thursday low 960 mb located over the Northwest
Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over the Northwest Labrador Sea.
By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight departing ridge located north of the
Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:14 AM NST 21 November 2018 A deepening low pressure system will approach the marine district
from the south today. Gale force north to northeasterlies will spread
across most waters today as the low approaches. Storm to hurricane
force easterlies will develop over the East Labrador Sea while storm
to hurricane force northwesterlies develop over western waters as the
low tracks northwards across the Labrador Sea tonight.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for North Labrador Coast, Northwest Labrador Sea, and East
Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for Mid Labrador Coast and
South Labrador Sea. A gale warning is in effect for South Labrador
Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except South Labrador Coast and East Labrador
Sea.
