Wind south 45 to 55 knots increasing to west 55 to 65 this morning then diminishing to west 45 to 55 this afternoon. Wind diminishing to west 25 to 35 near midnight then becoming southwest 25 Friday morning. Wind backing to south 15 to 20 Friday afternoon.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 14 November 2019 Today Tonight and Friday At 4:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 962 mb located over central
Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Friday departing low 960 mb located over Davis
Strait.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:55 AM NST 14 November 2019 An intense low pressure system over the Central Labrador Sea will
continue to intensify as it moves to lie over the East Labrador Sea
later this morning. The low is expected to move northward into Davis
Strait tonight. Strong to gale force easterlies ahead of the low will
shift to gale to hurricane force northwesterlies in its wake.
Westerly winds will slowly diminish tonight as the low moves
northward into Davis Strait.

A trough will approach from the west on Friday. Strong to gale force
southerlies are expected to develop over southern waters ahead of the
trough late on Friday.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for the Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for the
Labrador coast. A gale warning is in effect for Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Lake Melville and the Labrador coast.
