Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 23 January 2018 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 4:00 a.m. NST today dissipating low 964 mb located southeast
of Greenland.

At 4:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Quebec.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Wednesday ridge located over Labrador Coast.

At 4:00 a.m. NST Wednesday approaching low 988 mb located over
New Brunswick.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:39 AM NST 23 January 2018 A low pressure system southeast of Greenland will remain nearly
stationary as a ridge of high pressure slowly approaches from Quebec.
Gale force northwesterlies can be expected over western waters
between these two systems today.

A second low pressure system will approach from the southwest on
Wednesday and cross Southeastern Labrador in the evening. Winds will
increase to strong to gale force easterly as it approaches.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Sea and Northwest Labrador Sea.
