Wind becoming northeast 35 late overnight then increasing to northeast 40 to 50 near noon Wednesday. Wind backing to north 45 to 55 Wednesday evening except southeast 25 to 35 over southeastern sections.

Flurries changing to snow this evening then to rain or snow near noon Wednesday. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow.

Risk of freezing spray tonight.

Temperatures minus 8 to zero rising to zero Wednesday morning.

Issued 9:30 AM NDT 1 April 2025 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 a.m. NDT today intensifying low 996 mb located near
Anticosti Island.
By 9:30 a.m. NDT Wednesday low 980 mb located over the South
Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 a.m. NDT today ridge located from Ungava Bay to Belle
Isle Bank.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT today dissipating ridge located over Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:51 AM NDT 1 April 2025 A low pressure system near Anticosti Island will intensify as
It tracks across the Quebec Lower North Shore to lie over Belle Isle
Bank on Wednesday morning. Strong to gale force east to
northeasterlies will develop ahead of the low this evening and
strengthen to storm to hurricane force north to northwesterlies as
the low intensifies over the South Labrador Sea on Wednesday.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South
Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Sea and Northwest Labrador Sea.
