East Davis

Issued 04:12 AM EST 20 November 2018 Northerly winds of 40 to 55 knots will persist today as an intense low pressure system tracks through the northern Davis Strait. The strongest storm force winds will occur off the tip of the Cumberland Peninsula, with wind gusts up to 70 knots possible. Blizzard conditions with near zero visibility can be expected today and this evening.

Marine interests in the area should also be aware of a second intense, compact low pressure center in the Brevoort region this morning which will track northwards through the Davis Strait through the day. Sharp changes in wind speed and direction will occur in the vicinity of this second low. This weather system will weaken Tuesday evening.
