Issued 10:30 AM PDT 31 August 2026 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:30 a.m. PDT today frontal system located off Cape St. James.By 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight dissipating frontal system located on a
line northeast-southwest over eastern Queen Charlotte Sound.
At 10:30 a.m. PDT today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over central Vancouver Island.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT today ridge located on a line north-south over
northern Vancouver Island.
At 4:00 a.m. PDT Tuesday deepening trough located over Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Tuesday low located near Haida Gwaii.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 10:16 AM PDT 31 August 2026 A deepening low pressure system from the Gulf of Alaska will dropsouth to Haida Gwaii on Tuesday. There is still a lot of uncertainty
in its intensity and track. Gale force southerly winds are expected
ahead of the system over waters west of Vancouver Island, central
waters and parts of Hecate Strait beginning Tuesday afternoon.
The waters impacted and the strength of the winds may change in the
coming forecast updates as the track of the low evolves. This is the
first fall storm of the season.
