Wind southeast 20 to 30 knots becoming west 20 this afternoon then diminishing to southeast 15 this evening. Wind increasing to southeast 20 to 25 late overnight and to southeast 25 to 35 Sunday morning. Wind becoming southeast 30 to 40 Sunday afternoon then diminishing to south 25 Sunday evening.

Showers this afternoon. Rain overnight and Sunday.

Issued 10:30 AM PST 21 December 2024 Today Tonight and Sunday At 10:30 a.m. PST today quasi-stationary ridge located over BC
interior.

At 10:30 a.m. PST today frontal system located from Bowie to
Vancouver Island.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today departing frontal system located from Haida
Gwaii to the Central Coast.

At 10:00 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located west of the
offshore waters.
By 10:00 a.m. PST Sunday frontal system located from Haida Gwaii
to Vancouver Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:28 AM PST 21 December 2024 A frontal system approaching Haida Gwaii and Northern Vancouver
Island will track northeastward across the marine regions today.
Winds have risen to gale to storm force southeasterlies with
hurricane force southeasterlies near the headlands of Vancouver
Island. The system will reach Haida Gwaii this afternoon with gale to
storm force southwesterlies in its wake.

Another frontal system will approach the offshore waters tonight and
move across the marine regions on Sunday. Storm to hurricane
Force southeasterlies will develop ahead of this system with
southeast gales developing over the inner South Coast. This system
will bring gale force southwesterlies in its wake on Sunday night.

Gale force outflow winds will prevail through the mainland inlets
today as a ridge of high pressure remains over the interior.
