Wind northerly outflow 5 to 15 knots diminishing to light early this morning then becoming southerly inflow 5 to 15 near noon except southwesterly inflow 20 over northern sections. Wind diminishing to light late this evening then becoming northerly outflow 5 to 15 near midnight. Wind diminishing to light Thursday morning then becoming southerly inflow 5 to 15 near noon Thursday except southwesterly inflow 20 over northern sections.

Showers Thursday evening.

Issued 4:00 AM PDT 4 August 2021 Today Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 a.m. PDT today ridge located over northern Vancouver Island.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Thursday weakening ridge located over southern
Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT today low 1001 mb located over northwestern Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Thursday low 1006 mb located over northern Bowie.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT today frontal system located over Haida Gwaii.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Thursday weakening frontal system located over
Cape Scott extending southwestward.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:50 AM PDT 4 August 2021 A ridge of high pressure over Northern Vancouver Island and strong
daytime heating over the BC Interior are producing strong to gale
force inflow winds through Juan de Fuca Strait every day in the late
afternoon and evening. Winds will then ease to moderate to strong by
early morning.

A front over Haida Gwaii is producing strong to gale force southerly
winds over the northern waters. Winds will ease to moderate to strong
southwesterly as the front moves to Central Coast this evening.

A low offshore will spread westerly gales to Northern Bowie tonight.
Winds will ease to strong early Thursday as the low weakens.
