Wind south 15 knots backing to southeast 20 early this evening then increasing to southeast 25 to 35 late this evening except southeast 35 to 45 northwest of Estevan Point overnight and Thursday morning. Wind becoming southeast 30 to 40 near noon Thursday then diminishing to southeast 20 to 30 Thursday afternoon except south 35 near the mouth of Juan de Fuca Strait. Wind becoming southeast 25 Thursday evening.
Rain overnight and Thursday. Visibility 1 mile or less in rain.

At 10:00 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located off the offshore
waters.
By 10:00 a.m. PST Thursday frontal system located on a line
northwest-southeast over Haida Gwaii.

Issued 3:38 PM PST 18 December 2024 Gale to storm force outflow winds near mainland inlets willContinue as a ridge of high pressure remains over the interior.
A frontal system will track across the offshore waters tonight and
Thursday. Ahead of the front, gale to storm force southeasterlies
will develop. By Thursday evening the frontal system will lie along
the mainland coast with strong southwesterly winds in its wake.
