Wind southwest 15 to 20 knots backing to southeast 15 to 25 near midnight then increasing to southeast 25 to 35 late overnight except southeast 45 near the headlands Friday morning. Wind becoming northwest 25 to 35 near noon Friday then becoming west 25 late Friday afternoon. Wind diminishing to west 15 to 20 Friday evening.

Scattered showers changing to rain this evening then to showers near noon Friday.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM PDT 30 March 2023 Tonight and Friday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight frontal system located on a line
north-south over eastern Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Friday departing frontal system located on a line
north-south over southern Vancouver Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:09 PM PDT 30 March 2023 A frontal system over Bowie will track southeastward across Haida
Gwaii tonight and Vancouver Island on Friday. Ahead of the system,
strong to gale force southerly winds west of Haida Gwaii will spread
to northern coastal waters overnight and then central and southern
waters including the Strait of Georgia through Friday morning.

In its wake, winds will shift to strong to gale force northwesterly
tonight through Friday, and then spread to Juan de Fuca Strait Friday
evening as the system departs the South Coast.
