Issued 4:00 PM PST 26 January 2020 Tonight and Monday At 4:00 p.m. PST today trough located 50 miles west of Tofino.
By 7:00 p.m. PST tonight trough located on a line north-south over
central Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 p.m. PST today low located over western Haida Gwaii.
By 10:00 p.m. PST tonight departing low located north of Haida
Gwaii.

At 2:00 p.m. PST Monday frontal system located over Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:56 PM PST 26 January 2020 A trough of low pressure will move onto Vancouver Island this
evening. Strong to gale force southeasterlies are expected ahead of
the trough for southern waters.

Over northern waters, a trough of low pressure will bring strong to
gale force southerly winds ahead of the system and strong to gale
force westerly or northwesterly winds in its wake. Winds will subside
late overnight for all areas.

The next low pressure system will approach Explorer from the west on
Monday. Widespread gale force southeasterlies are expected ahead of
the front Monday afternoon and evening. Gale to storm force
southeasterlies will occur near the West Vancouver Island headlands
late afternoon and evening.
