By 10:30 a.m. PST Thursday departing frontal system located on a
line north-south over Hecate Strait.
At 4:00 p.m. PST today quasi-stationary ridge located over BC
interior.

Issued 3:56 PM PST 19 February 2025 A low pressure system is tracking across Central VancouverIsland tonight. In the wake of the low, strong to gale force
Westerly winds will persist tonight over parts of West Vancouver
Island, and the inner South Coast. Strong to gale force inflow will
also persist through Howe Sound this evening.
Another frontal system will track across the offshore waters tonight
and onto the North Coast Thursday morning. Ahead of the front,
southeast gales will develop over the offshore waters tonight and
then spread to northern and central waters overnight and Thursday
morning. In its wake, winds will shift to strong to gale force
southwesterly overnight through Thursday,
A ridge over the interior combined with the low will continue to give
gale force outflow winds through north and central coastal inlets
early this morning. Winds will gradually ease late this morning.
