Wind becoming southerly 20 to 30 early Sunday morning then veering to southwest 15 to 25 early Sunday afternoon except southwest 25 to 35 south of Tsawwassen. Wind becoming northwest 25 to 35 early Sunday evening then diminishing to northwest 15 to 25 late Sunday evening.

Rain changing to showers Sunday evening.

Explorer.
By 4:00 a.m. PST Sunday low 988 mb located 120 miles west of
Cape Scott.

By 10:30 a.m. PST Sunday low 996 mb located near Port Hardy.

At 4:00 p.m. PST Sunday ridge located west of the offshore waters.
By 4:00 a.m. PST Monday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:25 PM PST 22 February 2020 An intense low pressure system over Northern Explorer this evening
will move east towards Northern Vancouver Island tonight. The low
will move across Northern Vancouver Island midday on Sunday then into
the BC Interior in the afternoon.

Gale to storm force southeast winds will develop ahead of the system
over southern and central waters. Gale to storm force northwest winds
will develop over most BC waters in the wake of the low.
