Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM PST 27 February 2024 Tonight and Wednesday At 4:00 p.m. PST today warm front located over Hecate Strait.
By 7:00 p.m. PST tonight departing warm front located from the
Central Coast to Tofino.

At 4:00 p.m. PST today cold front located over Cape Scott extending
westward.
By 10:30 a.m. PST Wednesday departing cold front located over
Tofino extending southwestward.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:46 PM PST 27 February 2024 A warm front over Hecate Strait will track southeastwards across
Vancouver Island this evening. Gale to storm force southeasterly
winds will continue over northern and central waters ahead of the
front, then will gradually shift to strong to gale force westerly
through the evening as the front passes.

The associated cold front will track eastwards across Explorer
tonight and then Vancouver Island on Wednesday. Ahead of the front,
southwest gales will develop over Southern Explorer and west coast
Vancouver Island - south tonight and then shift to strong westerlies
in its wake on Wednesday.
