Wind northwest 30 to 40 knots becoming northwest 35 to 45 this afternoon then diminishing to northwest 20 to 30 late this evening. Wind diminishing to northwest 10 to 20 late overnight and to light Saturday morning. Wind increasing to southeast 10 to 20 Saturday afternoon then becoming southeast 15 to 25 Saturday evening.

Showers ending this evening. Showers Saturday afternoon and evening.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:30 AM PST 26 February 2021 Today Tonight and Saturday At 10:30 a.m. PST today ridge located west of the offshore waters.
By 7:00 a.m. PST Saturday high located southwest of the offshore
waters.

At 4:00 p.m. PST Saturday approaching frontal system located west
of Haida Gwaii.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:30 AM PST 26 February 2021 A ridge of high pressure parked in the Eastern Pacific ocean will
maintain widespread gale force northwest winds across most
BC marine waters today.

The northwest winds will ease from gale force to strong later this
afternoon across the northern and central waters. However, gale force
northwest winds will continue across southern waters
And into this evening.

Late in the day on Saturday, a frontal system will approach Haida
Gwaii. Strong to gale force southwesterly winds expected over
northern offshore waters on Saturday evening and will spread to the
North Coast Saturday night.
