Wind southerly inflow 10 to 20 knots except northwest 25 to 35 near the mouth of Howe Sound. Wind becoming northerly outflow 10 to 20 near midnight then diminishing to light early Wednesday morning. Wind increasing to southerly inflow 10 to 20 near noon Wednesday except southerly inflow 25 over northern sections.

northeast-southwest over central Vancouver Island.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday weakening trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Lower Mainland.

At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight building ridge located on a line
north-south over Bowie.
By 9:30 p.m. PDT Wednesday weakening ridge located from Explorer
to the North Coast.

At 9:30 p.m. PDT Wednesday approaching trough located off Bowie.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:12 PM PDT 21 May 2024 A trough tracking southwards across Vancouver Island combined with a
building ridge offshore will continue to give strong to gale force
northwesterlies over offshore and central coastal waters, West
Vancouver Island, Georgia Strait and Juan de Fuca Strait. Winds
Will gradually ease overnight through Wednesday morning.
