Issued 10:30 AM PST 26 January 2021 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 10:30 a.m. PST today quasi-stationary ridge located over BCinterior.
At 10:30 a.m. PST today frontal system located on a line
northeast-southwest over Explorer.
By 4:00 a.m. PST Wednesday departing frontal system located on a
line northwest-southeast over Explorer.
At 4:00 a.m. PST Wednesday intensifying trough located from the
Alaska panhandle to Explorer.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 10:05 AM PST 26 January 2021 A frontal system will remain stalled over Explorer today beforeexiting the region Wednesday morning. Ahead of the front, gale to
storm force southeasterlies will persist across all southern waters
west of Vancouver Island.
In the wake of the system, a trough of low pressure will develop from
the Alaskan Panhandle to Explorer on Wednesday. Northerly gales will
develop over Bowie early Wednesday morning and ease in the afternoon.
Additionally, a ridge of high pressure will remain over the BC
Interior for a few days. Strong to gale force outflow winds will
prevail through the mainland inlets of the BC coast.
