Issued 10:30 AM PDT 28 March 2020 Today Tonight and Sunday At 10:30 a.m. PDT today cold front located over Hecate Strait
extending southwestward.
By midnight PDT tonight cold front located over Tofino extending
southwestward.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today ridge located west of the offshore waters.
By 5:00 a.m. PDT Sunday weakening ridge located over Haida Gwaii
extending southward.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT Sunday intensifying trough from low located on
a line north-south over Bowie.
By 8:00 p.m. PDT Sunday trough from low located on a line
north-south over Cape Scott.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:28 AM PDT 28 March 2020 A cold front over Hecate Strait extending southwestward will move
southward and cross the South Coast tonight. Meanwhile a ridge of
high pressure will build over the Pacific Ocean and move onto the
offshore waters this evening. Strong southwesterly winds ahead of the
cold front will shift to strong to locally gale force northwest winds
in its wake.

Sunday morning sees a low establish itself over Northern Bowie with a
trough extending southward. While the low remains stationary the
trough rotates toward the mainland coast while intensifying, giving
southerly gales to the waters east of the trough Sunday afternoon and
evening.
