Issued 9:30 PM PST 3 March 2021 Tonight and Thursday At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight quasi-stationary cold front located ona line northeast-southwest over northern Vancouver Island.
At 4:00 a.m. PST Thursday deepening low 990 mb located southwest
of Explorer.
By 7:00 p.m. PST Thursday low 982 mb located over Haida Gwaii.
At 4:00 a.m. PST Friday low 990 mb located over southwestern
Explorer.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Friday high 994 mb located near Cape Scott.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:33 PM PST 3 March 2021 A cold front will continue to remain quasi-stationary over NorthernVancouver Island tonight. Ahead of the front, gale force southerlies
will persist tonight over central waters and west of Vancouver
Island north.
A deepening low will track northwards across Explorer Thursday
morning and lie over Haida Gwaii in the evening. Ahead of the low,
gale to storm force southerlies over southern and central waters will
spread to northern waters in the afternoon. Additionally, hurricane
force southeasterlies will develop ahead and in the vicinity of the
low. Winds will shift to storm to hurricane force westerly in its
wake and near the low.
