Wind southeast 25 to 35 knots increasing to southeast 35 to 45 near noon and to southeast 45 to 55 late this afternoon. Wind diminishing to northwest 25 to 35 after midnight except southeast 30 to 40 south of the Brooks Peninsula overnight. Wind becoming northwest 20 to 30 Wednesday morning.

Rain beginning early this evening and ending Wednesday morning. Visibility 1 mile or less in rain.

northeast-southwest over southern Bowie.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday frontal system located on a line
north-south over northern Vancouver Island.

At 10:30 a.m. PDT today low 993 mb located over southern Bowie.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday departing low 993 mb located north of
the North Coast.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT Wednesday building ridge located west of the
offshore waters.
By 5:00 p.m. PDT Wednesday building ridge located over the offshore
waters.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:33 AM PDT 20 August 2019 The centre of a low pressure system over Southern Bowie will
Reach Haida Gwaii this evening then cross the North Coast
Into the BC Interior on Wednesday morning. The associated front
Will swing through the northern, central and offshore waters today
then Progress across the South Coast tonight and Wednesday morning.

Within the vicinity of the low centre, storm to gale force southeast
winds ahead of it will switch to storm to gale force northwest winds
in its wake.

Gale to storm force southeast winds will accompany the associated
front today into this evening. The front will weaken to gale to
strong southeast winds as it moves through the South Coast tonight
and Wednesday morning. Strong northwest winds are expected to follow
the passage the front.

A ridge of high pressure will build Wednesday after the entire
System moves out of the marine regions. Widespread moderate to
Strong northwest winds are expected for all marine regions except
gale force winds along parts of the west coast of Vancouver Island.
