Island.
At 4:00 p.m. PST today frontal system located off Bowie.
By 10:30 a.m. PST Thursday departing frontal system located on a
line north-south over Hecate Strait.
At 10:30 a.m. PST today quasi-stationary ridge located over BC
interior.

Issued 10:18 AM PST 19 February 2025 A low pressure system over Southern Explorer will weaken as it tracksacross Vancouver Island today and tonight. Ahead of the low,
Strong gale force southeasterlies over the central and inner south
coasts will ease this afternoon. In its wake, gale to storm force
southeasterlies off Vancouver Island will shift to strong
northwesterly near midday today and then ease tonight.
Another frontal system will track across the offshore waters tonight
and onto the North Coast Thursday morning. Ahead of the front,
southeast gales will develop over the offshore waters tonight and
then spread to northern and central waters overnight and Thursday
morning. In its wake, winds will shift to strong to gale force
southwesterly overnight through Thursday,
A ridge over the interior combined with the low will continue to give
gale force outflow winds through north and central coastal inlets
early this morning. Winds will gradually ease late this morning.
