By 4:00 p.m. PST today departing ridge located from the North
Coast to the Washington Coast.
At 4:00 p.m. PST today low 1001 mb located west of Bowie.
By 4:00 a.m. PST Monday low 988 mb located over Hecate Strait.
At 10:30 a.m. PST Monday departing low 995 mb located over central
BC interior.
At 4:00 p.m. PST Monday building ridge located west of the offshore
waters.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 10:30 AM PST 3 November 2024 A broad ridge of high pressure is building over the BC marine waters.The ridge will shift eastward allowing an intense low pressure system
to approach Bowie late this afternoon.
This low will move eastward across Haida Gwaii tonight, and then over
the Central Coast and into the BC Interior on Monday.
Ahead of the low, southerly gale to storm force winds will develop
tonight. Behind the low, northwesterly gale to storm force winds are
expected overnight into Monday. During Monday morning, northwesterly
winds over central waters will reach hurricane force.
