A potentially critical freezing rain situation is forecast. What: A total accumulation of 20 to 30 millimetres of freezing rain. The event could last up to 24 hours and paralyze some services. When: Wednesday to Thursday Where: Greater Montreal, Montérégie, Outaouais, Laurentians, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec and the Capitale-Nationale region. Additional information: The weather will remain cold for the following days, which can complicate and delay the full restoration of services. There will likely be delays and cancellations in transport. Surfaces will become icy and increase the risk of falls and injuries. Prolonged power outages are likely. Ice build-up increases the risk of breaking tree branches. Consider delaying or cancelling any non-essential travel. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
