Hazardous winter conditions are expected. Locations: Lodge Bay to Cartwright. Total snowfall: 20 to 40 cm (Thursday afternoon until early Saturday morning). Maximum wind gust: northwesterly 90 km/h or night (on Friday night) Remarks: Snowfall rates of 3 to 5 cm per hour are possible, with locally higher amounts under heavier bands. Gusty northeasterly winds accompanying the snow will reduce visibility at times in blowing snow on Thursday night. Stronger northwesterly winds will follow on Friday night causing widespread blowing snow and near zero visibility. Travel may be hazardous. Road closures are possible. Allow extra time for travel. Winter Storm Warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather (such as snow, freezing rain, wind and rain) are expected or occurring.
