Wave height forecasts for Newfoundland issued by Environment Canada
at 6:00 p.m. NDT Friday 19 April 2024 for tonight and Saturday.
The next scheduled forecast will be issued at 6:00 a.m. NDT Saturday.

Forecast values are combined wind wave and swell heights. Highest
waves may be more than twice forecast values. Wave heights may vary
considerably due to shoreline and depth effects.

Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half.
Outside the ice edge seas 1 metre or less building to 1 to 2 Saturday
morning.

Strait of Belle Isle - western half.
Seas 1 metre or less building to 1 to 2 Saturday morning and to 2 to
3 Saturday afternoon.

Northeast Gulf
Gulf - Port au Port.
Seas 1 metre or less building to 1 to 2 late overnight and to 2 to 3
near noon Saturday.

Southwest Coast.
Seas 1 metre or less building to 1 to 2 Saturday evening.

South Coast.
Seas 1 to 2 metres except 2 to 3 over southern sections this evening.
Seas subsiding to 1 or less Saturday morning.

East Coast.
Seas 3 to 5 metres subsiding to 2 to 3 late overnight and to 1 to 2
Saturday afternoon.

Northeast Coast.
Seas 1 to 2 metres except 2 to 3 over eastern sections tonight.

Belle Isle Bank.
Outside the ice edge seas 2 to 3 metres subsiding to 1 to 2 late
overnight then building to 2 to 3 Saturday evening.

Funk Island Bank - northwestern half.
Seas 2 to 3 metres subsiding to 1 to 2 Saturday morning.

Funk Island Bank - southeastern half
Southwestern Grand Banks.
Seas 3 to 5 metres subsiding to 2 to 3 Saturday morning and to 1 to 2
Saturday evening.

Northern Grand Banks
Southeastern Grand Banks.
Seas 3 to 5 metres subsiding to 2 to 3 near noon Saturday.
