Wave height forecasts for Newfoundland issued by Environment Canada
at 6:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday 22 October 2024 for today tonight and
Wednesday.
The next scheduled forecast will be issued at 6:00 p.m. NDT.

Forecast values are combined wind wave and swell heights. Highest
waves may be more than twice forecast values. Wave heights may vary
considerably due to shoreline and depth effects.

Strait of Belle Isle.
Seas 1 to 2 metres except 1 or less over western sections tonight.
Seas building to 2 to 3 Wednesday morning and to 3 to 4 Wednesday
afternoon.

Northeast Gulf
Gulf - Port au Port.
Seas 1 to 2 metres subsiding to 1 or less this evening then building
to 1 to 2 late overnight. Seas building to 2 to 3 Wednesday morning
and to 3 to 4 Wednesday afternoon.

Southwest Coast
South Coast.
Seas 1 to 2 metres subsiding to 1 or less near midnight then building
to 1 to 2 near noon Wednesday.

East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south.
Seas 2 to 3 metres subsiding to 1 to 2 this morning.

East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis.
Seas 1 to 2 metres building to 2 to 3 this afternoon then subsiding
to 1 to 2 late overnight. Seas building to 2 to 3 Wednesday
afternoon.

Northeast Coast.
Seas 1 to 2 metres except 2 to 3 over southern sections today and
this evening.

Belle Isle Bank - southwestern half.
Seas 2 to 3 metres building to 3 to 5 Wednesday afternoon.

Belle Isle Bank - northeastern half.
Seas 2 to 3 metres building to 3 to 5 this afternoon.

Funk Island Bank.
Seas 2 to 3 metres except 3 to 4 over eastern sections tonight and
Wednesday.

Northern Grand Banks.
Seas 2 to 3 metres.

Southeastern Grand Banks.
Seas 2 metres.

Southwestern Grand Banks.
Seas 1 to 2 metres.
